Install the program. When it‘s done go: Start-Run and write services.msc, click ok. When the window opens find in a list diskeeper right click on it and click stop. DO NOT CLOSE THE WINDOW. Copy License.dal to diskeeper directory. Go back to the window you left open before. Right click on diskeeper and this time click start. Close the window and you‘re done. |

This is the BEST defragger around. It‘s especially needed on PC‘s that do alot of Media Editing(Movies,MP3‘s,etc). Thanks alot for this. |

Install Instructions in English
[STARTS] - Open the folder with the icon ‘UPLOAD FIRST PERSON‘ - In this folder run the installer: Diskeeper2008_ProPremier.exe - During the installation you will be brought to options ‘Automatic Defragmentation and Activation Preferences‘ - Untick the option ‘Activate Diskeeper after installation‘ and proceed with the rest of the installation - At the end of the installation you will be asked to ‘Select your registration option‘, choose ‘Never register Diskeeper 2008‘ and proceed. - Do NOT RUN Diskeeper YET - Go to Windows Start Menu, click Run - Enter ‘services.msc‘ - This will open the Windows Services console - Look for the Diskeeper service, right-click on it and press ‘Stop‘, leave the Services window open - Go back to the Installation package folder and copy the file ‘License.dal‘ to were the Diskeeper was installed, i.e. ‘C:Program FilesDiskeeper CorporationDiskeeper‘ - Go back to the Services Console, right-click on ‘Diskeeper‘, and press ‘Start‘. Close the Services window. - You are now free to run Diskeeper, on first boot it will ask to run an Auto Update, press Cancel - Do not Update Diskeeper or Activate Diskeeper as this will send the Licence information to Diskeeper Corporation, which may deactivate the licence. [ENDS] |

I just installed as per publicmedia‘s instructions and all works fine, Ran a defrag worked great,no nag screens are any other trouble Big Thanks to The Uploader and publicmedia.

this crap doesn‘t work. I followed Publicmedia‘s instructions, and first off it never gave me the option at the end of installation to "never register" - it didn‘t ask me at all. It tried to get me to register when I first ran the program, and the "activate later" part was grayed out. Also, the program‘s important features were all grayed out - the only thing I can do was ‘analyze‘, all the good stuff was grayed out. How the hell can you people say it‘s working? is there even ONE working version of this program out there? Jeezus... what a bunch of shitware |

Works perfectly fine if you do it correctly. Just uncheck the two boxes, stop the Diskeeper service, copy the license file, start the service back up and cancel the update on initial startup. |

Despite following publicmedia‘s instructions to the letter, everytime Diskeeper launches, it asks me to activate. This is a tolerable annoyance, however I wonder how long it is going to let me hit cancel. |

D/l‘ed and installed according to publicmedia‘s instructions and it worked, and is working, perfectly. I‘ve been looking for a really good defragger and I finally found one. I dl‘ed the 2009 version and it pretty much had the same install instructions but some how wouldn‘t work. But this one did. Much love to the uploader and will seed till I die!! |

Publicmedia‘s instructions do work. The problem is that you need a good firewall to prevent the Diskeeper program from contacting its Internet servers. I would suggest COMODO Firewall, which can be downloaded for free. |
