Works though the sound was messed up so I downloaded the sound fix, works ok now, though its crashing alittle. I opened with Winrar, Extract Iso images from both folders and install. |

change the extensions from .0xx to .rxx eg.: rzr-etw1.001 - rzr-etw1.r01 doing this you‘ll have no problems extracting the file with winrar, but ALL of the files MUST have the .rxx extension where xx is the number of the file |

Once you hae extracted the files, simply extract the iso using power iso to somewhere on your hdd you dont need to mount the image! Once you have done that, remember the directory. When ever the message saying "empire total war_disk1_0.sid" or what ever comes up during installation go to the directory and the files will be there. Or dont ven bother downloading, extracting and installing as the game doesnt work. You cant fight any battles, the only part that does work is the campain. |

Works fine:
Here are the installation instructions for the technologically challenged: Use winrar to unpack.Double click on 1st file in DVD1. Winrar opens showing ISO1. Extract to conveniant place. Do the same for DVD2. Create 2 virtual drives with power ISO, Daemon etc. Mount both ISO‘s onto drives.Double click DVD1. razor 1911 installer comes up, press install. It will ask for the dvd1SID files. click browse, search for the virtual drive that the iso image is mounted on, click on it, the file you‘re looking for should be there. Just open it. You may think it‘s freezing, but it‘s not (mine took about 40 mins). It may even ask for the same thing twice or more. Just keep doing it until the installer exits. Find ISO1, Open with Daemon etc. extract the "razor 1911" folder from DVD_1, and copy CONTENT (NOT WHOLE FOLDER) into "empire total war" folder. It will ask if you want overwrite existing files. Click yes to all. Download Razor 1911 sound fix and copy it into the empiretotalwar/DATA folder It will ask if you want overwrite existing files. Click yes to all. Copy Empire.exe from "empire total war" folder to Desktop. Click on empire.exe to start. Play. Hope this helps. Does anyone know how you aquire the "Special Forces". |

I think I copied each folder and the .exe file individually. Dont know whether it mattered or not. I know that the shortcut which was created on the Desktop caused the same problem that you‘re having.So I deleted it and copied the empire.exe(Crack) to the Desktop and it worked. |

Viper the missing dll file you need is from direct x. open the cd and find the installer for direct x and install it. |

Yes, the Razor1911 install is kind of crappy, but this does work.
Like TenYearsAfter explained, you might have to browse to the file on the mounted disk. It only took me about 10-15 minutes total, though. As for the missing file "d3dx9_40.dll," I found a .cab file on disk 1 called that, and extracted the dll file inside to the Empire Total War folder. Then it started up fine. If you can‘t open the rars, download 7zip. Find one of the rar files, right click, open archive. Then extract the iso out and mount with DaemonTools. I haven‘t noticed any problems with the sound yet, but I‘m downloading that just in case. |

Game wont launch. Running empire.exe results on empire.exe showing in processes for about 2 seconds then going away. No error messages. Going to uninstall then reinstall; its entirely possible the installation was corrupt at some point. |

Even though im not getting a d3dx9_40.dll error, i went ahead and extracted it to the game folder. Nothing changed. Empire.exe shows in processes for a couple seconds, starting at 96kb loading up to about 15mb, then shuts off. |

1) Open the downloaded file, you should have DVD1 and DVD2. 2) Open DVD1. It will show the huge list of files you‘ve just pasted, i.e. 01. DVD1/rzr-etw1.001 [95MB] etc 3) Double click on 01. DVD1/rzr-etw1.001 (the first file) if you‘ve got winrar installed? ISO1 should appear in the winrar window. 4) Extract to conveniant place ........ etc Then just follow the rest of my instructions |

I guess I have understood how this works guys! Read carefully. Download and unrar, try to mount, get confused because you don‘t know how to make it work properly. Then ofcourse you ask here how this works and say please help me. You get different tips, try them all out gets ennoyed and delete the files from the comp. In the end you ask yourself why you tried this out when so many before you already had problems. You could have downloaded something more useful instead. |

TORRENT WORKS 100% BUT DOES NEED A FEW MINOR ADD ONS.
I will repost the correct install instructions from tenyearsafter, as his method works 100% "-Read this: Use winrar to unpack. Double click on 1st file in DVD1. Winrar opens showing ISO1. Extract to conveniant place. Do the same for DVD2. Create 2 virtual drives with power ISO, Daemon etc. Mount both ISOs onto drives. Double click DVD1. razor 1911 installer comes up, press install. It will ask for the dvd1SID files. click browse, search for the virtual drive that the iso image is mounted on, click on it, the file youre looking for should be there. Just open it. You may think its freezing, but its not (mine took about 40 mins). It may even ask for the same thing twice or more. Just keep doing it until the installer exits. Find ISO1, Open with Daemon etc. extract the "razor 1911" folder from DVD_1, and copy CONTENT (NOT WHOLE FOLDER) into "empire total war" folder. It will ask if you want overwrite existing files. Click yes to all. Download Razor 1911 sound fix and copy it into the empiretotalwar/DATA folder It will ask if you want overwrite existing files. Click yes to all. Copy Empire.exe from "empire total war" folder to Desktop. Click on empire.exe to start. And before you all get on my case, I have played this game succesfully for about 40 turns. Ive cured the "Road to Freedom" -((**NOTE FROM BHMFTW** I believe you ment Road to Independance? correct me if im wrong tenyearslater**))- crash by downloading the Road to Freedom ((**INDEPENDENCE**) Fix. NP, dont get discouraged, tons of n00bs on here, its vital that people still post proper instructions amidst all the n00b speak of people either too lacking in the intelligence or common sense department, or simply too lazy to follow instructions.
I am going to be installing this on my friends machine so he can give it a shot, and noticed there are several combo packs that supposedly incorporate all the fixes that were listed into one executable file. I will try these out tonight (and check for viruses) and link a working one, just to make it easier. If you cant get this torrent to work, you are better off going to buy the game, as you are most likely beyond all hope ;) But dont feel bad, this game is worth full price, - im picking up my copy on payday. |

i have to agree, BHMFTW and tenyearsafter gave a great support! i only was confused about the fact, that when i unpacked "rzr-etw1" from the disc 1 folder, the iso was displayed as a winrar archive, which i simply opened (lol? xD) with deamon tools. after that everything worked perfectly.

Im almost done, I completed the RAzR install and everything is on my HD. I then copied the contents of the RAZR folder (ISO disk 1) into my Empire Total War folder on my HD. Then I ran into probs and got stuck, did these two things: 1) Copied the Empire Total WAR EXE onto the desktop, installed steam (which I found on the DISK 1 ISO file) and still get the Steam.dll not found error message when i try to run it from the desktop. 2) I got a error message regarding missing d3dx9_40 when i tried to run the exe from the Empire Total War folder, I did what a user stated above and found the dll on the DISK 1 Iso and copied it over, ran the program and it brought up the SEGA image then the program quit. Im so close I can taste it, any of you have ideas what im messing up? Thanks. (I got Vista btw) |

This torrent works well. I can‘t understund how you guys can‘t get it working. Just follow the fuckin‘ instructions. It‘s very simple. Just use your head.

kudos to razor1911, though i think if they‘d taken an extra 5 minutes to test their rip before they released it they could have made things a lot easier. then again, i guess beggars cant be choosers, so thanks for the upload! to all those who had a bit of trouble like i did, here‘s what i did. it might not be the best way, but it worked for me: 1. download this torrent, and the "Empire Total War Update 5-RazorDOX" torrent (532mb) 2. extract these two dvds and the update torrent. extract by having winrar installed and right clicking on the first file and selecting "extract to" ~~~at this point you should have two iso files, and one folder with the update~~~ 3. mount both dvds, or extract them to a folder. 4. open setup.exe on DVD1 5. follow the prompts and locate the data files when it asks you to (they will be in the extracted folder or mounted dvd) 6. when setup finishes (it will just close), run the update according to instructions in .nfo provided 6. play, and enjoy! thanks again to razor1911 :) |
