oh wait... just running Setup.exe a second time seemed to solve my problem.
I didn‘t mount the cd images; just ran Setup.exe and it extracted the data itself.. |

I installed the game to C:Program FilesSquare Soft,Inc Final Fantasy VII but still does‘t work (Still black screen error). In configuration panel it says: "8-bit Paletted textures" FAILEd in theGraphics section. My video Card is Ati Radeon Express 200. Any help? |

Everyone Take note that this game requires a Patch to run on XP and is known to conflict with many new video cards ( 8 - bit fail ) . the game is also known to crash at any time when ran on xp with no-cd , and is very annoying when you‘re 20 hours into the game and you suddenly cant play any further. i have seen this game ran on alot of pc‘s running XP with only 25 percent working the whole way through. Probably a better idea to just buy a ps1 and the game for around 25 bucks. |

For those who get the black screen error you will need to install the codec that the in game movies used when the game came out ( indeo Codec ) they came on the install cd. if you have a new codec package that uses ffdshow codec the game will crash. If the game ever crashes with the error Cant Find EHAC.YOS the game will never be playable on your pc... Sad but true :( |

there is absolutely NO need to change any file names, or extensions. What friggin iso crap? Can you not se a setup.exe? You‘re not supposed to touch the bins, the .exe will.
And if you can‘t get past any starting screens it‘s cause the buttons are awkwardly placed by default. Run over your keyboard and find them to get into the game, and then configure them in the menu. I‘ve run it without the included patch on XP SP2, and Vista. No problems. |

(for vista )if u get some errors such as a black screen and the just fail.. or the 8 bit colors somthing, i found the solution, ull need to download a few patches to make it work .
