downloaded at circa 150 Kbps (i usually download at max 260 Kbps ), so this is the worldwide maximum speed probably, took 2 days exactly - not so bad ah?
i didnt mount the ISO, i opened both DVDs into a folder on my drive and ran it from there. no problems. (you browse for the 2‘nd DVD folder during the installation). installed perfectly, no problems at all during the installation, however you need an internet connection, its a must have part of the installation process (you must have some "rockstar social club" thingy) , and then after the installation is complete (25-30 min. all together) you need to update by downloading a new file "windows gaming" thingy, only then you can apply the crack. after the first upload , when applying for your "windows gaming" account, ask for an "offline account" , then you‘ll never need an internet connection ever again (assuming you dont want to compete on the internet and stuff) i downloaded the crack from somewhere else (mininova?), im not sure which one. i downloaded about 5 different ones ‘cause i was so scared from all the other comments about malfunctions and "rotating camera" bugs, but NONE of it ever happened. im not sure which crack was that, but i needed NOT put any rockstar serial number (that you‘ll be required at first) - dont put that ! in the crack that im using, you copy some files, then it opens a small DOS window - and then the game begins. again : DONT put the required serial (thats the "Lelouchii" crack)- i‘de say, use a different crack. thats what worked for me anyway (i think its called "Darkcoder" im not sure though). game works P.E.R.F.E.C.T !! no problems whatsoever - im playing for 3 days now and it runs smooth, i have an HP laptop 2G memory, and NVIDIA 8000 something video card (average PC i‘de say) and its indeed a tiny bit slow, but definately fun! enjoy, from israel. |

to velodke: i guess it got something to do with your on-board / built in video card, maybe its just too weak. because mine (NVIDIA) is borderline as it is: you have inside the game - while playing - in the options (Esc) an automatic "graphics settings" where you can setup your graphic preferences, it tells you how big is your graphic memory (mine is 250 Mb for example) and how much is left free - then you can play with the desired quality up or down. im over the edge even myself: im virtually using more than 250 Mb and the game is rather slow at times (not always) but definately fun.
your only chance is to set the graphic memory in the BIOS - you can define how much you want to "let" your on-board video card "take" from the 2GiGa you have (in some computers, im not certain about compaq) it also tells you how big it is originally without borrowing memory from the RAM(probably no less than 128 Mb , they dont sell less than that nowdays). enter your Bios (press F2 , or Del right when the computer starts you get an oldschool blue screen) and try to set it up from there. maybe, maybe, it would work. good luck. |

i have damn 1mb connection and 120 transfer rate when am downloading this damn game i have just 10 KB :D and the uTorrent say ETA = 2w 3d thats mean i have to wait 2 weeks ?:D olease we need more seeds or up the upload speed just to 50 or 100 kb or lets ur firewall allow the connections. and open port. there more than a 100‘s seeder :D just every one make it a 50 or 100 please :( 14gb not a 14mb LOL and who have win95 i think u must bay a Nintendo super Mario 1.0 :P JK (Plaese ;D) |

Use mounting software like one of the following:
-PowerISO -MagicISO -Daemon Tools -Alcohol 120% Dont bother using DVDs, I dont have DVDs that big either. P.S. Im averaging 13kb/s... please more seed |

i finished dl in 3+ days, then i mounted in daemon tools, when i clicked autorun, it shows me the welcome to the gta iv install process thing, and then when i click accept it shows me the thing where i have to provide permission, then an error msg pops up
