This film has not been released on dvd yet as of 1-21-09. I‘m not knocking this torrent, i have no doubt that its great quality, however this is NOT a dvdrip. I have had Gran Torino for about a month now and it is no cam version. It was given to me, not sure of its origin but it has no musical score. There is no background music or soundtrack on my copy. Did this torrent have it? |

The following all depends on whether or not your own a DVD/DivX Player that will play an AVI file. Some of the older players won‘t. If your like to watch movies in different languages (which I do a lot). And you like to watch them on your TV instead of the computer, the great thing about an SRT file is you can burn it along with the AVI file onto a DVD. Just make sure the AVI and the SRT have _exactly_ the same name. |

jayfunk, first off, that‘s basically impossible unless you were seeding for days and weeks on end, but even then I‘d doubt you were "shut down".
Peerguardian, while not full proof by any means, helps alot. Same with the TOR network. For me, I enjoy releases, as I cannot go to the theater, but if I like a movie , I usually pick up the bluray. In the current depression we‘re in, 25 bucks for the movies is too much. |

Good film. A/10 V/10 The sound doesn‘t play on Windows Media Player, but plays excellent on VLC Media Player. Converts fine to DVD format. Thought this was going to be a Western, but no it‘s about a hardened Korean war vet and the relationships he has with his neighbours.

Seriously kats here it is on the subs. In the folder is an srt. file, next to the movie itself, Either just simply delete the srt file (which looks like a blank page), best option, or move the film to another folder. Simple as that.

Easy way of telling if its a dvd rip: check out the properties of the avi file. 2)Find the resolution (in this case it‘s 640x272) 3)divide 640 by 272: (aspect ratio is 2.35:1). 4)compare this to the standard ratio of a 16:9 movie (1.78:1) and a standard 21:9 movie theater (2.33:1). This looks to me like a movie straight outta the theater, not a dvd rip. |

to all the n00bs!!! everyone in here thats talking about "no sound, no video track" needs to make sure they have their codecs installed properly. If you installed more than one pack then you just fucked yourself, and u gotta remove one of them. Most of these movies use the xvid codec and is not available by default on must systems. |

The subtitles are there. Normally, i like subtitles, but the words don‘t exactly match the words and it‘s extremely horrible and annoying. |

Siccone781: I had the same problem with the audio. For some strange reason Windows media player isn‘t the right player for this file. Try VLC Media player and max the volume. |

I had no problem with subtitles or sound quality.
It was a little bit dark in some parts of the movie, but that was because of my TV which I was streaming it to. Perfect video, good audio (regardless of what people are saying in the comments here) and over all was a really good movie itself. I think this is my new fav. =] |
