AVG ANTI VIRUS WARNING
Heads up guys... AVG Anti Virus is NOT our Friend... FACT: I have a Keygen for a certain program that I‘ve used many times. All the Sudden, AVG reported it as having a Virus... I first thought is was just a delayed Definitions issue. But the more I thought about it, the program I was using, Never gave me a problem. And this is not the first time AVG has done this with Keygens and Patches. So, I used a different computer Without AVG and ran the Keygen, I also scanned the Keygen with Panda and Norton Anti Virus. No Virus Found. After running the Keygen, it worked Fine and I wrote the Key produced down on paper and tried it on the first computer. It Worked Fine. I then re-scanned the computer that produced the Key with both (up to date) Panda and Norton, AGAIN... No Virus Found and the System Works Fine. AVG is a Good Anti Virus program. BUT, apparently AVG is taking it upon themselves to be our Moral Police. USERS BEWARE... Not only did AVG report this Keygen as having a Virus (it does Not) it completely DISABLED it. Made it unusable on the first computer. AVG is deciding (without your knowledge or approval) what they will lie about and what they will DISABILE on your personal property... I‘m done with this BS Software and that BS Company... Its up to you... Just letting you know what happened to me... USERS BEWARE... AVG Anti Virus is NOT our Friend... |

Works fine, in .DAA format so you need to get PowerISO or some program that can work with .DAA files.
If you‘re looking for a legit way to convert it and you‘ve got a bit of *nix knowledge, you can get the *nix version of PowerISO and convert it to an ISO. That or just bootleg a copy (the trial restricts the size of files you can manipulate). |

rightcopy is right, AVG, and some others virus software have reported keygens as virus‘s....go to smaller organizations for your protection, Kaspersky is suspect as well...spybot and superantispy, avast also reports a lot of false positives, but then, even Norton does...careful out there, keyloggers are a real pain in the behind ;~) |

FYI,
These antiv‘s that you are all talking about are showing them as viruses, and trojans because they contain registry values that are similar to certain trojans and viruses. Even games that came with my HP laptop showed up as potential viruses and they were installed by HP before I even got the computer (Lemonade Tycoon, Mahjong Garden, Etc.) Point is that these paranoid idiots that know absolutely nothing about computers and antivirus programs.... STOP SAYING EVERYTHING IS A VIRUS!!! And to those who ask how to install this.... If you are going to download torrents, you should downloads some tools such as Winrar for decompressing files such, and Magiciso, Daemon Tools, Power Iso, Etc. to use as an extractor, or for mounting images which means that it works as a vitual cd, or dvd drive. Virtual meaning that it is a cd or dvd drive without having the actual hardware. I am not promoting any of this software as one is better than the other, these are just examples. I am not trying to be a whineass, but to all the newbies out there, you have to seed. The way this works is that if there are more peers than seeders, then it is extremely slow to download these things. I am not suggesting that you have to leave everything seeding 24/7, but at least a few hours a day would help. If you take the files and then remove them you are selfish and don‘t belong on here. The uploaders are doing us all a huge favor when they upload, and their intentions are for everyone to SHARE not be selfish! That‘s all and to those who do share... YOU ALL ROCK!!! Works fine, however when closing out it has an error which I have to click in order to shut it down. Probably some sort of bug associated with Vista since I dont remember having the problem on my xp computer. As for how to open the .daa I would suggest downloading "Pismo File Mount Audit Package". It is legally free and can be found by searching on download.com or probably anywhere else. Once installed right click on the .daa and select quick mount and now you will have a folder in its place with the contents of it (saves you time spent burning, and a cd). When done installing GPro you can unmount to save space. Hope this helps. |

are people really that stupid now? alright, this is for all you people saying that this has a virus and all this other bullshit. a keygen, crack, hack, or any alteration of a program like this will show up to an anti-virus program as a virus, because in all technicalities it IS but i can promise you that keygens are usually not malicious in any way. if you take teh time and use the half a brain cel it requires to scan each individual file in a download you normally find that only modified programs will show up as a virus eg. keygens. so please stop filling torrents with stupid nonsense about viruses, all it is is a false positive, get over it. oh and to "rightcopy" at the top of the page, avg isnt trying to be our morality police, all the program did was report a false positive, no worries, id say the only reason panda and norton didnt pick it up is because they are the most worthless av progams you can buy. |

To clarify some of the above:
AVG detecting keygens as a virus/malware - yeah it may be, but when it detects a standalone app ike a keygen as a virus, then generally it‘s based on the heuristics of the exe (how it was coded/compiled). If in doubt don‘t use it, but don‘t advertise it as a virus/malware if you haven‘t _proved_ it beyond a resonable doubt. Denis Stalker tracker - this is an *UNMANAGED* tracker, so quit being so damn paranoid and spreading this BS. DAA format - OK, so the U/L is a n00b that doesn‘t know better. Use PowerISO and open it/convert it and get on w/your life. @rightcopy - If you are such an expert/reverse engineer/MCSE, why don‘t you realize it isn‘t AVG per se, but what it‘s scanning? The app is doing exactly what it‘s supposed to, but garbae in/garbage out. imho you are a normal Windows admin w/a little coding experience that has no idea what is actually going on w/this app. It‘s not the company that has the problem, it‘s your interpretation of what their app is doing that‘s wrong. it seems that daemon tools, the version i tried anyway, doesn‘t support daa format. if you get the full version of powerISO though, you can convert the DAA format to ISO if you like using Daemon tools or some other program and you shouldnt have problems, i didnt anyway. you can also convert files to BIN/CUE or to DAA using PowerISO if you like those formats better. really the only reason i have PowerISO is to convert file formats i dont like to ISO image format. |
