This is for PC but it‘s NOT a DVD. The uploader compressed all their game directories into a rar file. This game crashes out. Prolly due to a dll file or two that the original DVD installer would hgave installed to the Windows directory, that this newbie uploader overlooked. Don‘t waste your time with this. Damn kids. You‘re welcome. |

Also, the uploader didn‘t include steam. The steam dir is empty so you have to go to the steam website and get steam yourself. Jackass uploader. |

Work fine upto ep 2 on Vista 32 bit as a single player will not try server. The rest I haven‘t test it. Also the explaination on how to run this game is screwy.

useful hint for Episode Two: Forget the crap the uploader wrote in the note and do this instead:
1. Extract the files where you want, e.g. D:gamesHalf-Life 2 - Episode Two 2. Edit the SteamEmu.ini file in the main game folder like this: SteamAppsDir = D:gamesHalf-Life 2 - Episode Two 3. Create a shortcut of hl2.exe from the main game folder and add some parameters to the "target"-box like this: "D:gamesHalf-Life 2 - Episode Twohl2.exe" -steam -game ep2 (to get to the "target"-box right-click the shortcut and click "properties") 4. Start the game using this shortcut |

Oh, and Episode Two isn‘t working properly in this version: There are some textures missing and some NPCs are just standing there like dummies doing nothing. Look out for the unleashed crackfix for Eoisode Two to fix this. It‘s a updated dll file. Just replace it and everything works fine. |

this works fine but with errors. if you already played hl2 and want to skip that file extraction well too bad you still need to extract it because if you just extracted hl2:episode one it will generate errors such as "runtime errors" or "R6025 - pure virtual function call". to fix this you need the files in "half-life 2hl2materials". open each folder and copy all and paste it to your "half-life 2: episode onehl2materials" folders but don‘t replace the existing files in each folder of "half-life 2: episode onehl2materials" just copy the missing files. this procedure will fix the problem with invisible doors, black and pink boards(this are sprites for the smoke), invisible floors, and the missing crowbar dammit!!! |

I downloaded only Half-Life 2 so I could finally finish it but following the instructions was useless. Here is what I actually did:
1.) Unzipped the game, it doesn‘t matter where really. 2.) Instaled Steam, created new account blah, blah, blah... 3.) Added hl2.exe as my NON-STEAM game. 4.) Then in Steam, hl2.exe/Properties (right click): added "-steam -console" after the "XY:Half-Life 2hl2.exe" line AND closed it simply with Close button. No weird stuff with creating shortcut and renaming in (???). Hope I remember it all right and it will save someone‘s time. Happy gaming! |

Hm, actually, that "weird stuff" with desktop shortcut had something to it: you have to use ""XY:Half-Life 2hl2.exe" -steam -console" to properly link it with the game. But not RENAMING the shortcut itself, of course, that‘s completely useless. |

Daemon Tools will convert Half Life 2 .CUE into a Winrar. Extract to it‘s own folder. Steam makes no distinction between real or fake accounts, so if you just want to play offline, goto www.steampowered.com and download/install the program. Invent an account change TARGET to "C:Half-Life 2hl2.exe" -steam -console, as instructed. Launch game online then Save, close everything. After that, Steam will Launch your Saved game offline. When you meet Alyx she will open the elevator door then freeze. The console reports that the folder Config (Half-Life 2platform) is ‘read only‘, just uncheck it. HL ep 12 can be played off of a storage drive. ALT + TAB between the game and walkthroughs. |

wondering if any one can help with team fortress 2. I installed and got it to work...I downloaded steam, installed, set up new account, added team fortress 2 into "my games", but when i try to connect to a server from the list it wont connect. the console reads "invalid steam key size" Any thoughts or ideas as to what the problem is???? |

If you use AVG, disable Web Shield and Link Scanner[web censor]. To avoid deletion of the patches and keygens in your Finished torrent download folder, goto Tools - Advance Settings - Resident shield - Exceptions. Also, use Google cache to get around AVG censor. |
