Help needed folks..my DVD player can play avi files without converting them..but everytime i download from this user the file works on my computer fine but if i use my DVD player it works then as soon as the movie starts it just cuts off???any ideas??all other avi‘s from other sources are fine? |

Keefy baby, get DivX, and a player that plays DivX, you can get 5 movies of this size on one disc, good quality too, it‘s the only way to go if you are going to be a dloader. I don‘t know where you live but I can get a player for about 30 bucks so it‘s worth it. FXG rocks and the files are always good. DivX (download it from any torrent site) has a player and a converter but I have only had to convert Nero files so far, every other one plays direct and a whole DVD burns in about 10 min. |

I‘m sure that FXG does rock. However, I have the same problem as keefybaby112 - except it doesn‘t even start to play - I just get an "X" and player skips it. Like Keefybaby112, movie plays fine on p.c. but my player won‘t play this. My player - which BTW is probably the 30 buck one mentioned by idb1968 and which plays all true avi and DivX files fine - except that sometimes this happens and it‘s no good. I usually get at least 5 movies on a disc. So, need to figure out what‘s happening ‘cause it‘s annoying.
idb1968 seems to have some good advice and I will do some checking on why this is happening to some avis and not others. But, just so people know - not averyone will be able to play this . . . at least ‘til we figure out why not. Other suggestions will also be considered with appreciation. |

You have to reencode for Divx I have the same problem sometimes and that‘s all I do, and it works fine |

I used Divx convertor on a file but it still won‘t play on any of my DVD players except one. Plays fine on the PC. But I either burn it really fast on Nero 9 and can‘t watch on any DVD players or it takes 5 hours to burn one movie onto a disk. |

the only program the me and bro uses is convertxtodvd, we have almost 600 movies using this program, have never had a problem, and it does not matter what the player is being used. |

if your having problems playing AVi‘s on your DVD player I suggest using ConvertXToDVD so you can watch it thats what i do |
