Found a fix for my problem earlier to change the resolution manually go to... Left4Deadleft4deadcfgvideo.txt "setting.defaultres" and "setting.defaultresheight" to resolution you want and fit in your PC.
Question: Anybody here know how to config the multiplayer on LAN? |

get used to not havin reloaded get every game up on the torrent sites, i got a crack they made for the game dead space which when inserted into ur directory simply corrupted the game file and left a hateful not for when u start that game stating they are tired of doing all the work for hundreds of t housands of people a cant even Fing say than k you in a comment , seems like theyre not doin to much anymore so get used 2 it and 2nd theres nothing wron g with ha ving to simply replace a file that would make it the same exact way it would be if u got it from RLD anyways. stop bein nubs stfu and do what U have to do to get YOUR completely free game , thank you and goodnight |

It‘s very real great game and graphics just one thing thats bothers me. its in another language i think German. but the text can be in english for you to read. but while playing the game the characters communicate throughout the game and i could never understand what they are saying. still worth the dl if you want to play and its not a demo. |

maybe your video card fits the system requirements BUT your monitor‘s doesn‘t fit the resolution of the game... you need to find the video.txt found inside the cfg folder of your Left 4 Dead directory and change the "setting.defaultres" to 1024 and change the "setting.defaultresheight" to 768. |

This is what you have to do to play Left 4 Dead on LAN without STEAM:
Have the computer that‘s going to run the listen server (the most powerful PC you got) run this batch command (either through .bat file or windows shortcut): hl2.exe -game left4dead -console -novid +sv_allow_lobby_connect_only 0 +z_difficulty Impossible +map l4d_hospital01_apartment And I‘ll actually explain the extra switches (sweet deal!). -console activates the console. Press the tidle (~) key to bring it up during the game to switch maps and stuff. -novid skips the intro video. +sv_allow_lobby_connect_only 0 makes sure you‘re able to connect to games via console command "connect xx.xx.xx.xx". +z_difficulty Impossible selects Expert difficulty. Other options instead of Impossible are Easy, Normal, and Hard. +map l4d_hospital01_apartment selects the first level of the game. Look in your maps folder to see the different levels you can pick. Don‘t mess with the .bin files. Just open the .exe and the install starts. For people who don‘t like the music, alt-tab to another window or the desktop, then open your volume mixer and mute the installation application. And if it takes you 30 min to install this game, your computer is probably too slow to play it at decent resolutions. My computer has a Windows experience level of 5.5 and takes 10 min to install. |

for the n00bs: to install, find the .rar file which contains the 8 .bin files (left4dead-tl.rar), the 2nd last file (for the newbs). Extract hte 8 .bin files and the .exe this into a temporary folder of your choice. Then, run the .exe installer that you have just extracted (dont worry about the bin files). Just wait for the install, follow instructions on the English Pack, which I expect you have downloaded, and enjoy this awesomely fun game! |

This torrent works excellent. Just extract all files into a ‘folder‘, run the executable, it installs in Russian, then after the install, extract the english language pack (seperate download) and install into logical directories, then play! |
