This is a 2 CD release and MUST be burnt to 2 single CDs. NO EXCEPTIONS. Read on for details: CD-1 (WINXPPROITT.NRG) Windows XP Professional SP2 Full Student Release VLK CD-Key: V2C47-MK7JD-3R89F-D2KXW-VPK3J This version of Windows XP Pro will not ask you to activate. It is a copy used in many colleges to teach students the installtion process of Windows XP. It is, however, a full version of XP, and it has all the extras Windows XP is known to have. This release will also allow you to log on to Microsoft.com and use Windows Update with no problem. The CD is expected to be copied multiple times. I hope you all enjoy this release and hopefully its the last release you will ever have to download. To Use: Burn the image using NERO. CD is bootable. Install as you would an original CD. CD-2 (WINDOWS XP TO MEDIA CENTER EDITION 2005 CONVERTER.ISO) .:: XP to MCE 05 Updater ::. This disk will allow you to upgrade your windows xp to windows mce and retain your valid/legal license. No need to purchase an MCE liscense. Installation 1. Burn iso to cd. 2. Boot computer from cd. Once loaded you will see a command prompt that will make needed changes to allow MCE to be installed. You will be prompted to delete a registry key. This is to change from a dword to a string value as needed by MCE. 3. Once completed press a key and your system will reboot After step 3 (preupdate rollup 2) go to the window‘s Website and run microsoft update. Install all the updates then proceed to step 4. ---------------------------------------------- If rollup 2 tells you it must be installed on mediacenter, here‘s the quick fix. Go to WindowsUpdate and download and install ALL updates listed (including rollup1 and WGA...etc.) Once they are ALL installed, restart and then run the rollup 2 setup again. It will install just fine. ---------------------------------------------- -----NOTE----- This window may appear minimized. 4. Boot into Windows normally and run the installer autorun file. 5. After each step you MUST reboot for a proper install. (Do NOT skip this step!) 6. If you are prompted to insert your XP Disk 2, point the program at the file on the disk /cmpnents/mediactr/i386/mediactr.cab |

| Has anyone got this working do you have to clean install the WINXPPROITT.nrg file or can you just use the converter iso because when i try to boot from the iso cd it stays on the boot from cd window but nothing happens do i have to use magic iso and create the iso into a bootable cd or do i just burn the iso file as is |

These files are clean and as to my previous post i burt to disk the converter image which didn‘t work but after i re-installed magic iso it came up as a bootable cd so i‘ll post back if i get it to work !! terminator0032 I‘ll be back |

| lol this is for terminator .. how dare you call us theives..Microsoft are the real thives..example buy a vista upgrade for your pc... key word is UPGRADE.It‘s shit...bunch of lies and promises they cant deliver on..and bug city...look at it this way.. you bring your car to a performance shop for an UPGRADE, you pay a fortune to them..you pick up your car and right away you have a 30 % loss in power and it stalls at every corner... so screw them and there crooked ways.. if a program isnt ready dont release it to the public for a fortune...we DONT pay to beta test Microsofts crap for them....well sorry for outburst but sick of people defending the microsoft tyrant.. |

| As for standing in front of God and JC for taking programs which are so freely given, well how about these big software companies selling flawed software. My media center/xp just crashed. I‘ve checked on help lines and found that tons of people have the same problem. I want to install this program, but will it actually run on a computer that will not boot due to a missing or corrupted file:windowssystemvgaoem.fon ? I‘ve run the recovery discs I made, but the fix calls for an original xp cd that was not sent with the computer. It was autoloaded at the plant so I‘m screwed as are thousands of other people who bought the crap. Is this an update or an actual program? Thanks for the detailed instructions by the way. |
