"NeroPatentActivation.exe" It is just that when u get to this point it says like this:
NeroPatentActivation NeroPatentActivation.exe but the button part u can‘t change or can u, what i did was rename the first part and just added .bu so it now has both one with the .bu extension and one with the .exe extension. but it seems to work i don‘t get the it is a pirated serial number crap. so if there is another way of doing it please let me know ry4nolson, i would apreciated. or maybe i am just doing it wrong. |

also there was another file that has and .exe extension and another which i forgot now so it was like this "NeroPatentActivation.exe.xxx" this one i rename no problem without the other extension just the .bu but that didn‘t work. |

1. go to DOS command window [for XP users, just go to run, type CMD and hit return/enter] 2. type the ff.commands: cd [press enter] cd program files [press enter] cd common files [press enter] cd nero [press enter] cd shared [press enter] cd nl3 [press enter] ren NeroPatentActivation.exe NeroPatentActivation.bu [press enter] Note: if you open Nero8 after the changes, sometimes the NeroPatentActivation window will pop-up. Just close the window. If you received an error that Nero can‘t start, just re-start the application. it is recommended to restart your pc after the changes.. |

Ok this is if you try to change the file in VISTA, you won‘t need to do the dos crap like in XP,But you want to Install it and don‘t reboot befor you go to your folder options and then click on the view tab, then in the list you will see HIDE EXTENTIONS FOR KNOWN FILE TYPES , Clear the check out of the box next to it and then apply. Then right click on file and you should see the whole file name and extenton, Rename it, and when you change NeroPatentActivation.exe to NeroPatentActivation.bu, You will be asked to ok it, also make sure you have admin privgs FIRST, and BAM you are done Enjoy Hope this helped |

Bigtra31 just click on the taskbar where you go to open programs (the Windows Logo ball bottom left) And where your account pic at top right is on menu just dbl click on it and under your name will say Admin if you are,under your name, When you dbl click on that pic,All it does is open the account control program same as if you went to control pannel and opened it there. |

First of all make sure you *can* modify file extensions : - open Windows‘ Start menu, select Run.... Type in "explorer" (without the quotes) - in the ‘Tools‘ menu, select folder options - then click on View - Deselect the option "hide file extensions for known file types" From now on, to rename files, right-click the file to rename, select rename, then give the file a new name and extension, then hit enter. |

The way i got rid of that annoying "pop-up" telling me that the serial and everything is pirated, i installed nero 8, then i entered msconfig, clicked on the startup tab, and unchecked the Nero AG Check box. I didn‘t restart my pc just yet, I went to C:Program FilesCommon FilesNeroSharedNL3 and i just deleted the NeroPatentActivation.exe and the program has been running flawlessly for 3 months now. |

i think i got it...
During the installation, Nero gives you the option to enter the serial number. DO NOT PUT or enter the serial from the keygen YET. Leave the default one the installer gives you . After installation finishes, open Nero and close it. at this time Nero will "phone home" to compare the "keygenned" serials to the real ones, then make nero pop up a unregistered nag message box when you use certain nero features. since this is still a trial it wont pop-up pirated copy detected... Now delete the file C:Program Files/ Common files /Nero Shared/NL3/NeroPatentActivation.exe Now go to Nero start menu entry and enter the product setup. Here you can remove the trial serial and enter a new one. Now is when you have to put the serial from the keygen, and remember also to deactivate the automatic updates in this window. hope this solve your prob. as it does mine |

.......I had this thing working after all with no more popups about activation until a couple of days ago when I wanted to burn some avi files to DVD (Nero Vision) and when I tried to add the files a popup came up saying something like the trial period for ???plugin is over make sure you are connected to the internet and register and that was the end of that.

There are NO VERSIONS OF NERO 8 AVAILABLE THAT ISN‘T NAGWARE!!!! They all phone home and eventually pop a nag when you use showtime or other features.
No file renaming or blocking with a firewall will help. Believe me, the longest it will go nag free is one month or so. Use Nero 7 until a crack group releases a cracked exe file. You‘re welcome. |

Your guys little tidbits helped me figure it out. First, before install, uncheck the "hide file extensions for known file types", just as AMAROID says. I have zonealarm, so when I next installed nero 8, zonealarm started to pop up some hidden files that were trying to run which were never shown before. One was named NBkeyscan, and 2 others were NBindexingsvc and indexsvc. I allowed them to run on startup. Nero phones home and see‘s its only a demo. Then go to start menu and type msconfig. Under startup deselect everything that has to do with nero. Then go to the service tab and deselect the NBkeyscan and indexsvc files. Open nero and make sure that the check for updates tab is unchecked. Then delete the nerobackup and neropatentactivation.exe files from the nero-shared-nl3 folder. Reboot. When everything restarts, open nero and change the demo key to a new key from the keygen. All good. Its only worked for about a week so far but with everything removed or blocked from starting I dont see how it can bother me now. Oh, I also used zonealarm to block internet access to everything that said nero on it. Thanks for all the help guys. |

whatever firewall u have make sure to add all nero apps to the blokced list so it wont try to conect to the ineternet when u open it ive done that and works like a charm oh and also delete the file C:Program Files/ Common files /Nero Shared/NL3/NeroPatentActivation.exe . just the neropatentactivation one. hopefully this works for other as it has for me u wont get the naggin anymore claiming u dont have a real copy or what not |

Ok, This what I did.
1/ turn off all internet connections, firewall, Anti-virus, (everything) 2/ run install, leave blank for serial no‘s if asked 3/when program is installed, dont not reboot, Delete C:Program Files/Common files /Nero Shared/NL3/NeroPatentActivation.exe 4/This is a easy file to delete, rather than doing the DOS thing. (Old School). 5/Copy Keygen program into the Nero folder. Now Click the Nero icon in this folder to start the program and it will ask you for a serial number, as to start the program. Use the Keygen, generate a number, cut and paste the number into space provided and watch what happens!!! I did this and Nero is fully function with everything on and all you do is add/remove modules as you need. When you are playing around this program, anything that relates to updates, do not tick. If you are upgrading to this version,you have to completely uninstall Nero restart computer,than run the Nero ‘cleanup tool‘next run ccleaner than regeditHKCUsoftware delete Nero folder HKLM software again delete Nero folder.Next make sure nero folders are deleted in program files and program data,don‘t be worried if you can‘t find any of these files/folders Nero cleanup tool might have removed them already. Here is the best and simplest way to install this on Vista Ultimate 32-bit:
Install Nero 8, then enter msconfig. Click on the startup tab and uncheck the Nero AG, Nero Home, and Nero BackItUP Check Box. Go to C: Program Files / Common Files / Nero / Shared / NL3. Find the Nero Patent Activation.exe file and delete it. I have been using Nero 8 Ultimate without a hitch ever since, even when I‘m online. I didn‘t have to disconnect from the Internet to install the program either. Give it a try. |

AVG ANTI VIRUS WARNING
Heads up guys... AVG Anti Virus is NOT our Friend... FACT: I have a Keygen for a certain program that I‘ve used many times. All the Sudden, AVG reported it as having a Virus... I first thought is was just a delayed Definitions issue. But the more I thought about it, the program I was using, Never gave me a problem. And this is not the first time AVG has done this with Keygens and Patches. So, I used a different computer Without AVG and ran the Keygen, I also scanned the Keygen with Panda and Norton Anti Virus. No Virus Found. After running the Keygen, it worked Fine and I wrote the Key produced down on paper and tried it on the first computer. It Worked Fine. I then re-scanned the computer that produced the Key with both (up to date) Panda and Norton, AGAIN... No Virus Found and the System Works Fine. AVG is a Good Anti Virus program. BUT, apparently AVG is taking it upon themselves to be our Moral Police. USERS BEWARE... Not only did AVG report this Keygen as having a Virus (it does Not) it completely DISABLED it. Made it unusable on the first computer. AVG is deciding (without your knowledge or approval) what they will lie about and what they will DISABILE on your personal property... I‘m done with this BS Software and that BS Company... Its up to you... Just letting you know what happened to me... USERS BEWARE... AVG Anti Virus is NOT our Friend... |

Unfortunately I had the trial and it had expired and so in Control Centre it only says ‘Site Licence - None‘ and ‘Nero Trial - Demo Expired‘. What now? hi guys
I have installed and did deleted patent activation.exe and disabled automatic update, nbkey etc.. in msinfo. was working good for 3 months but now suddenly erupted a window asking for patent activation when any application is opened, like nero rom, express, vision etc.... canceling it locking the application. cant run now nero. I tried to reinstall and tried patent activation patch but no use. so i totally uninstalled Nero. really something different required to get this stuff working. same with nero 8.3 aswell. |

I‘ve done everything that it says here to do, everything works fine except for Nero Vision which is needed to burn .avi files. The program just freezes up and doesn‘t load the file. It worked for 3 months and now nothing. I‘ve uninstalled, redownloaded numerous Nero 8 and Nero 7 torrents and no matter which one I install Nero Vision still freezes up. Is there anyone who‘s out there that has had this problem, and if so is there a solution for this problem? Thanks in advance. |

works fine! The Keymaker works too! With the difference that you may have to change several serials to find one that works. When you like it buy it. ;) I use torrents for testing software, so that i won‘t throw my money away, and I can say I‘ve saved enough from knowing what to buy.

Just go to the Nero site and download the original trial. Use the key they sent you. Then change your date to january 2007. Then remove NeroPatentActivation.exe. If you can‘t find it use the search function.
Then go to the Nero Control Center. There you can add 1K22-1867-0795-66M4-5666-3288-A52K as key. Then remove the demo key and everything works. So now you don‘t have to dl any keygens or other suspicious software. |

Ok if you are having problems, you may wish to try the following:-
1.) Uninstall nero completely, via control panel and add/remove programs. -Restart. 2.) Obtain nero clean tool from http://www.nero.com/eng/downloads-cleantools.html 3.) Run clean tool. Select C: drive when prompted to specify which location to search. May obtain error sayin no installation folder or similar. Click ok. 4.) Any data remains will be shown in dialog box. 5.) Select "Clean All" and yes to removing the product.-Restart 6.) Now go start, search and search for "Nero" and "Ahead" on the drive where nero has just been removed from. Remove any program files, user files, everything! 7.) Go to start, then run. Type in "regedit" Expand "HKEY_CURRENT_USER" then "Software" and delete the "Ahead", "Nero" and "NeroDigital" folders. 8.) Now expand "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" then "SOFTWARE" and again delete "Ahead", "Nero" and "NeroDigital" folders. -Close registry and restart. Do not be alarmed if all above folders are not in registry as they may have been removed by the clean tool. 9.) Obtain fresh installation from nero site. Trial or Update does not matter. 10.) When installing does not matter whether you use "Demo" or the serial in post (49.) Once the installtion is complete, Restart. 11.) Now following the above post (49.) enter first: Nero 8:- 7K22-OO1B-11OS-E1SS-S9M4-B4X3-7E11 Delete the demo serial if one is listed and enter all the other serials in post (49.). Does not matter which order they are entered. Make sure you delete the "NeroPatentActivation" Thanks to phudi69 for this advice |

There is ONE thing you‘ve got to know RIGHT FROM THE FRONT. Nero (since the 1rst versions that I happened to use, back in the old days) NEVER EVER WORKED CORRECTLY. In each and every version there were problems of control in the DATA-FLOW, and this, with any system you would chose this software to run with. As far as I can remember, I always had to run specific little programs intended to burn this or that type of media, each and every time I had to backup any important DATA. ONE DAY, MAYBE, Nero will come back down to the CORE, and program a software intended ONLY to backup DATAs on various medias, and concentrate on the very essential of the subject (control of DATA flow to the burner, proper buffer calibration, and so on...). For the moment, Nero is only interested in selling you an awful lot of useless stuff that don‘t belong to DATA-Backup in the 1rst place. If you don‘t believe me, well, go to your local computer store, buy the latest release of this software, and install it. If, let‘s say after 3 months of intensive use of various DATA-Backup, you encounter absolutely NO PROBLEM (using the best medias, of course, VERBATIM for instance!!!), then you can reply to this little pamphlet and warn me that Nero has just released a STABLE version of it‘s software. In the mean time, why should you try to use a CRACKED version (full of viruses and who-knows-what-other-possible-shit) of a software that will basically FILL your dustbin with the medias that it has wasted ??? Lately, I‘ve been working for a client (small company), they had a CRASH problem, they needed to Backup and re-install... the poor guys got Nero to do the job... nothing worked... JUST NOTHING. I came with a few basic FREE stuff, and did the entire job in less than 1/2 of a day.
