Banjomamba

Alright, heres the deal.
The quality of the movie is great but the sub is fuckid up, in every line it says something like "fontcolor #fffff"the text"/font. It is in english but it gets extremely annoying.
Heres a link to a better subtitle http://subscene.com/66616/subtitlefilm.aspx and select the one that is called "English Pan‘s.Labyrinth[2006]DvDrip[Eng.Sub]-aXXo" all written in green text, not the one that starts with "English" in red textcolor. The sub is a .ssa file so use some player wich can open such files like BSplayer. Just copy the .avis name and use it on the sub file (but remove the .avi in the end of the name and use .ssa since it is a .ssa file).
And thanks for the release aXXo.

Banjomamba, just open the srt file with note pad, click edit-replace search for "fontcolor #fffff"the text"/font" etc and replace with nothing. only takes a few min. Save the file and presto no more garbage. You can even add your own comments!!!!

How do i enable subs on my VLC player.?, i have been looking and can‘t find how to do it...
jimmikatt
Never mind, I downloaded the new version of the VLC player, and was able to get the subtitles working, then with the help from above, to remove the
"fontcolor #fffff" in the test.... then i needed to add the subtitle file to the player.... now everything is fine.... for people having trouble, check and make sure that you have the latest VLC player, it makes it a lot easier to add the sub to....

The .srt file below, is the subtitle file. Windows Media Player will not run the file during playback. VLCportable is a great media player that has many codecs to play just about anything (http://portableapps.com/apps). When you open the movie file, you can indicate the subtitle file to play with the movie. To get rid of the html coding which displays font color="#ffffff" during playback, open the .srt file using Notepad. Do a search and replace for each of the following html coding: font color="#ffffff", /font, i, and /i, replacing each with a space. You can even change the words in the subtitles to remove colorful language if you have kids. Save the file with any name and the .srt extension. Done!
Maudibe

A word on VLC Portable Media player. First it is free. Second, it can be installed on either your computer or a flash drive then run from which ever you installed it on. If using a flash drive, the program can be taken with you and run from any computer by simply plugging it into the USB port. It installs nothing on the host computer and leaves no traces that you had run the program. With a moderate capacity flash drive of at least 1Gb, combining the player with an .avi movie on the drive will let you watch movies on any computer without anyone knowing that you did. Also in above note, you must also remove all brackets around html coding which did not appear in the above post (less than and greater than signs to the right of the M on the keyboard). Hope this helps. Good job aXXo!

Thanks for this movie. I saw it in the theaters but I wanna see it again! The subtitle file was a little messed up, but I fixed it. For others having problems, and have a Mac like I do, you can edit this file in TextEdit. You have to open TextEdit and go to File-Open to open the subtitle file. Then search for all the html tags individually and replace them with nothing. Just leave the "replace with" field blank. It‘s not going to be how the creators intended, but gooed enough.

Hey JunkBondTrader, I am using a MAc as well but I can‘t even get the subs to show up. What media player are you using(I am using quicktime) to view the movie with subs? I can sort of understand the spanish but it would be more enjoyable to see ti translated in english.

I‘m using VLC to play the .avi file merged with the 92kb .srt subtitles that downloaded along with the movie. They‘re working fine for me. When I downloaded this same .torrent file earlier, the subtitles were still messed up, but I think they‘re completely fixed now. The subtitles from the link "jimikatt" posted above don‘t line up with the audio in this file. Just stick to what downloads in your client and use VLC to play the movie. http://www.videolan.org/vlc
superfrodo
Just kidding, the subtitle file IS NOT fixed, at least not throughout the entire movie. But fixing it is so easy there‘s no use griping about it.

Open the .srt file in Notepad, choose Edit -- Replace. In the "Find what" field, enter "font color="#ffffff"", and leave the "Replace with" field blank. Do this again with "/font" in the "Find what" field, and there you go, problem solved. It takes about 5 seconds, and with how quickly this file downloads and how good the quality is, it‘s worth it.

aXXo subtitles always work in windows guys...srt subs are very easy to deal with. You can even edit them. In order to make them work make sure the srt file has exactly the name as the movie file. I use windows mediaplayer to view movies...VLC works well too...in order to view srt sub in windows mediaplayer you need to install DirectVobsub. subs in another languages can be found here: http://subscene.com/

For those using a Mac, download the mac version of VLC (there‘s an Intel version that works great if you‘ve got the right machine). With VLC running, open the movie file, and in the open dialog box there is a line that asks if you want to enable subtitles. It will then let you browse to the .srt file, which are the subtitles. This player also has better sound for this movie than Quicktime. To get rid of the "font color" issue with the subtitles, just follow the previous instruction using TextEdit. Choose "find" and replace all. After you‘re done, just save. Good film.

Wow, all you people complaining about problems with the subs, do you not read the other comments above you? Several people (i.e. coppercable, superfrodo and many others) have already given detailed instructions on how to fix this. First open the subtitles file (.srt) with TextEdit or Notepad and get rid of any text you don‘t wanna see (minus the times, they are necessary). Then make sure the .srt and .avi files have the EXACT SAME name. Finally, use VLC (Mac or PC) or another of the listed programs to play it, not QT or WMP. It‘s actually pretty simple whether you‘re a novice or expert. Nobody cares that you‘re a complete noob (we all were at some time), just listen to the fucking advice people give instead of whining like infants.
