ACTUALLY IT DOES WORK ON VISTA (im playin CIVs 4 now on my VISTA HOME PREMUIM) all you need is a couple of patches and DIRECTX 9 Ya windows vista has directx10 but u can install direct 9 also (it wont replace version 10- they can work simultaneously) so you can stop that error that some file is not found in dll directory |

OK, every thread has the same question ‘what is an iso and how do i burn it‘
So here goes An ISO is a kind of file that the computer can identify as a CD/DVD. It is an ‘image‘ of a DVD/CD, hence; image file. Software such as power iso/magik iso etc. all does the same thing, ‘mounts‘ these onto my computer essentially tricking the computer into thinking the DVD/CD is in the drive when in fact it is a ghost image. This is the way to get round copy protection. However, it may work for install, sometimes you need to replace the original .exe file with a cracked one that won‘t ask for a cd/dvd. games these days don‘t actually need the CD/DVD in, it is just a copy protection strategy. the .exe can usually be found in the folder where you have installed the game to, replace it with the cracked one. If you have trouble finding one, then go to megagames (www. megagames. com) and go on pc fixes. Hope this helps, i figured this out myself a while ago now but this info would have been useful at the time. Peace |

I find it much easier to just burn the ISO to disc using Nero. then just coping the crack (found on disc) over the real file (once installed) and you‘re good. every now and then I print a label on the disc so they look better too. |

all versions, civ4-beyondthesword terminate immediately (WIndows encountered a problem, immediate termination, send error to windows, bla bla bla!!) except Beyond the Sword, which terminates on any action, like build city or next turn. FUCK you. |

Works, just fallow the instructions in file ReadMeFirst!! Installation Instructions - CorbeTTCajun.txt. And warning for VISTA users, you must run setup manually from DVD, with right click and choose Run as administrator. And it will work, at least that solved my problems(crashes and errors). I don‘t know why this isn‘t on default, but vista will give just too much limit to setup, so run it as administrator. |

I really don‘t get this. Do I have to burn 3 cds then? The first file is 1400mb and my disc is 700mb. Can‘t I just leave them on the computer without having to burn anything and waste discs? This is too complicated for me. Why can‘t things be simple, i‘m not a nerd like most people on here. lol |

OK, I‘ve got it downloaded, I burned the ISO to a DVR, I installed it using ‘run as administrator,‘ I replaced the .exe with one from megagames.com, I applied the patch I got from the Civ IV, and I still can‘t get it to work. If I run it off the hard drive it says ‘missing booth-python...dll‘ and if I run it off the DVR it says there are compatibility issues then prompts me for the disc. Can someone please help me out? What am I doing wrong? Is this a Vista issue I can‘t get around? |

works great the only one that I cant get to work is Beyond the sword for some reason. Other than that I use vista and had no problems followed the instructions and it was all good.. These free games are great but only if you have the time and patience to work out what needs to be done. If your new to this kind of stuff just breath take some time and go step by step through the instructions. If that does not work for you just give up because it can be frustrating when you spend hours trying to get this shit to work |

Yea, i think the creator fucked up on the beyond the swords part of this torrent, if you notice, the icons for BTS are missing pixels. That should trip a flag somewhere. But yea, just find BTS from somewhere else and it should be fine, as for that virus idk. |
