Bulshit jimray! If you want to play HD discs on your DVD writer, then you‘ll need HD ready Equipment, but theres no problem downloading an mkv file and playing it using a normal PC - You just need the right program to play it, or the right codecs for your media player.

you misunderstood me erh101. what i mean with HD ready PC is a PC with enough power to decode HD formats,ofcourse with the proper codecs and players. try playing this one with a P4 2ghz and builtin video mobo.... even with the codecs and player you mentioned, you‘d be lucky if you see any picture or hear any sound.your PC would crash. adding an HD ready video card on a P4 3ghz CPU might do the job, but i guess barely. atleast a 2.4ghz dual core CPU and an HD ready mobo or GPU is needed to have the best quality HDs. but then again, these are the normal PC specs nowadays... your just to dumb to know it. i built my own HTPC and i didnt even put an optical drive on it, not even a DVD drive. just a multicore CPU and an HD ready mobo on a LCDTV. i just download HD files like this one and play it with WMV. |

Okay, I thought about being rude for a moment, but I‘m going to make this clear. The reason this is over 1gig is because the resolution is higher. Now, I know you people think a standard definition copy is fine, BUT in the case of people like myself who have 24 inch full high definition wide screen monitors, a 350 meg standard quality show looks like absolute ass, to be blunt. The bigger the monitor, the higher the resolution you need in order for a video to look good on at monitor that is, like mine, 1920x1200 pixels. Even on a 17 inch monitor this video will look twice as good as say, a 350 meg one. But on a 24 inch monitor, you notice it so much. I used to be like that, complain about people downloading Hi Def stuff. Then I got this monitor and I realize why people download Hi Def, because it looks absolutely fucking orgasmically good. Oh, and for those that don‘t know, MKV‘s are very often High Definition videos, and or Dual Audio in the case of anime. You can use them with VLC or my favorite player, Media Player classic. HOWEVER with 1080p episodes and movies you may need CoreAVC which is a codec that allows 1080p movies to run smooth instead of choppy which happens often due to inappropriate codec installed (codec are like drivers but for video formats). |

Use TMPGenc Author to convert to Divx or DVD. Use ConvertXtoDDV to make a DVD. If your video card is good enough then you can look for a free codec IE http://www.free-codecs.com/ |
