Excellent movie. Wow, I wasn‘t expecting anything this good! Video quality was fine... but my audio was sort of quiet--I had trouble getting it loud enough, even with my speakers cranked and all the windows (xp) volume settings up to 100%. I don‘t know if that‘s just my setup or an actual problem with the audio. I‘m definitely going to rent or buy a copy for a second viewing. It was so damn good I figure they deserve to be paid. :p |

Most of the people who are going to see this movie will never have heard of Sasha Grey. Most of those who DO know who she is will not have actually seen her perform. I know that she‘s one of the biggest names in adult entertainment right now. But if you‘re like me, and what you‘ve watched is the occasional porn film on "The Movie Network" late at night, then the chances that you‘ve seen her at work are pretty slim. I never have. Steven Soderbergh‘s demographic just doesn‘t share that much in common with the majority of porn film fans. I mean, everybody‘s seen the "Ocean‘s" films, and Erin Brockovich. Maybe even "Out of Sight" or "Traffic." But the folks who like his more artsy fare, aren‘t likely to be the same people who are downloading the kind of hard core porn that Sasha Grey does. Although I will say, now that I‘ve seen "The Girlfriend Experience," I‘m going to go right out and start looking for some Sasha Grey adult films. This girl is HOT! And she‘s not that bad an actress on top of it. If she‘s this good at her day job, then I‘ll bet some of her performances are pretty steamy! And while you‘re certainly more in a position to judge than I am, I would think that seeing her actually having sex would make her performance more real. Although I suppose the characters she plays in the porn movies are probably pretty different than this woman. I‘ll have to watch this again after I‘ve seen a couple of her adult movies and see if you‘re right. |
