Film cronicles a free concert filmed outdoors at London‘s Hyde Park few days after Brian Jones‘ traggic drowning and featuring new guitarist Mick Taylor‘s public debut with the legendary band. While not always running on all cylanders, this version of the band will go on to become it‘s best live outfit largely due to the guitar interplay between Keith Richards and Taylor, with Taylor‘s lead far outshining any six string playing that happened before or since. Keith provided the unforgetable riffs, Charlie and Bill the backbeat, and Taylor‘s nimble fingers, the searing lead runs that make the subsequent tour‘s live album (1969‘s Get Yer Ya Ya‘s Out) it‘s best official live release. This document records that band in it‘s infancy. |
