Quality was fine, no problems. Very VERY good documentary. This is a 2 part series btw - The God Delusion and The Virus of Faith.
Richard Dawkins is really excellent. The point he made about the vulnerability of the human child - as far as believing what authority figures tell them and why humans needed to do this, evolved to do this to survive - and WHY religious indoctrination is particularly dangerous to impressionable young children makes perfect sense. I worked with abused children for over 20 years, I knew that child abuse was usually passed on to the next generation. I saw the damaging effects in both children and adults. I knew that religious fanaticism was one of the indicators we looked for in evaluating families for abuse ...It was a trange "ephiphany" however, when I watched these 2 documentaries, to realize that the religious indoctrination of children WAS as damaging, abusive and harmful as any other form of abuse. I can see why the idea of a "virus of faith" makes sense... Many thanks to uploader for sharing this enlightening documentary. |
