Freedomhunter: This is a common bug with nVidia cards and the Aurora engine.
Roll back to forceware version 94.27 or as close as you can get, I don‘t remember the exact number. This will fix the problem. Either that or click around and hope to press a button that takes you to a new menu, very tricky but it works with Neverwinter Nights (The game which the Aurora engine was originally designed for) Good luck, folks! |

Dopeman is the aXXo of software. 7z files are zippped with 7-zip and can be extracted with winrar. This download is the best one out there because it is stripped of all non-essentials like Spanish audio files etcetera. This makes it 3 Gigabyte smaller than the others. You do the math....... |

Allrighty then! Here‘s how you make this work the easy way: forget the whole Daemon tools thing. Just go to www.gamecopyworld.com and grab the v1.1 fixed .exe Overwrite your witcher.exe with the new one and your almost good to go. Run the regsetup.exe as stated in the readme of the torrent or you will get the game in Russian. All works fine. |

Sorry... My fault... The Daemon Tools works... the issue was with mi Windows version... It is in other language. I just changed the placement of dtpro.dat.
I got this from some forum: For non-English Windows: copy file dtpro.dat from "C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataDAEMON Tools Pro" to "C:Documents and SettingsAll Users[Application Data - in your language]DAEMON Tools Pro" and use patch... That solved it. The game is working fine this is the REAL THING thanks and sorry for the mistake. |

if the dopeman release is too technical, just download it extract it where you install your games, update to version 1.1 with offical patch run the regedit.exe in main folder and throw a crack over it, this repack release from dope man works fine and the fancy steps to play were because there was no crack released yet, i have downloaded the previous dopeman eng only release done the steps i said and played the game 100% through so idk bout this release (modified dopeman release re up for some reason) but the original dopeman release works fine |

It works like a charm. You can unpack it and throw it somewhere on your hard disk. It will be around 7GB after unpacking. I addicted to this game right now :) |

The DT Pro that supposedly comes with this doesn‘t work - hell it doesn‘t even exist. The .mdf image file that comes with this won‘t load with alcohol 120%. Unless I‘m missing some big picture here - this thing is buggered. |

You can even update it and it still plays fine. In fact, I STRONGLY recommend you update it. Load times are drastically reduced and the game runs smoother overall after the update.

Ok im no newcomer to Daemon Tools either and I‘ve done this before as well. I‘ve followed the instructions to the letter and when I launch the game it says there is an error and the game has to close. I too have the very fast open and shutting of the regedit program. Im running Windows XP Service Pack 2, have updated it to the latest updates, have the latest drivers for my NVidia GeForce 6800 card. I loaded the latest DirectX version 9. My custom compter is running an Intel Pentium 4 CPU with 2.60 GHz and 768 MB of RAM. I think that meets all the qualifications.
I‘d really like to play this game, anybody have a suggestion? :D |

More info on what I‘m seeing: when I load the image on Dameon Tools in the virtual IDE Drive I was told to create, it shows a green mask over the little disk icon and it‘s entitled ‘Unknown‘. I think if it was working right it should call that drive ‘The Witcher‘, correct? |

I followed the provided instructions and Daemon tools didn‘t work for me. Luckily now there‘s a crack for the game, produced since the original instructions. It makes life much easier. Here‘s what I did (several of these things are taken from the readme I‘m not saying they are all necessary, just telling you what def worked for me):
1. Extract the files to a suitable folder 2. Install or (UPDATE) the latest DX9 from within the DirectX! folder by running DXSETUP.exe 3. Install the Vc Runtimes by double-clicking ‘vcredist_x86.exe‘ 4. Open the game folder Double-Click regsetup.exe 5. I downloaded installed the v1.2 patch from the Witcher website (not necessary I believe but a good idea) 6. I downloaded the v1.2 crack applied it Game works, no need to use Daemon Tools. I‘m on Win XP SP2. |

It is ultra compressed, when you open it up it‘s 7.5 gigs of data in the 3 gig file. So no, nothing extra is missing besides the other language stuff. Also the game runs great with Alcohol 120%, which works wonderful for almost any type of CD/DVD burner created with other programs. Alcohol 120% not only runs them all but without problems (for most people). |

Everything installed fine I suppose, but I wasn‘t able to apply the update patches with the way this game installed, and this game won‘t play properly on my system without being patched (main menu choices don‘t work along with other problems)which could be the way it installed or a graphical hangup with the nVidia drivers |

For all you People that have to get on here and waste your time posting a comment on how there is a trojan. IF YOU HAVE A BULLSHIT ANTIVIRUS PROGRAM, IT WILL REMOVE THE DTPRO.EXE AND YOU WONT KNOW IT. Disable your antivirus. Extract that dtpro patcher file only and save to wherever. Then if i was u make a backup copy of the pacther in a zip. That way if u turn ur antivirus back on it wont delete the file. ----For best results, don‘t steal if ur a fag and like to use antivirus programs for your gaming machine. |

no good so far with windows seven will need something compatible with magic disc even reanaming as iso dosent seem to work any tips drop a line and let us know i spent about thirty minutes trying to get this to work, compatibility mode along with other programes to try and convert did not work

I‘d like to go on record and say that this file is legit, and works fine provided you update/patch it correctly. I have not attempted the convoluted installation method set out by the uploader, but instead used a modified version of what ParticulateMatter suggested. Not all of these steps may be necessary for you, such as the hotfix, this is just what I did.
-Extract TW1.1a.7z to wherever you want, it doesn‘t matter, -Run regsetup.exe from the extracted directory. Yes, it will open and close in the blink of an eye. THIS IS NORMAL. Do not freak out, -Update to v1.3, -Install The Witcher: Enhanced Edition EAX/Blur HotFix, -Download cracked .exe from GameCopyWorld and extract it to the System folder in the Witcher main directory, overwriting the original. I recommend the file "The Witcher: Enhanced Edition v1.4.5.1303 [MULTI5] No-DVD/Fixed EXE" because it is the one I used and it works fine, -Update to v1.5, -PLAY! To those of you who are having your antivirus claim there is a trojan/whatever in the DTPro file/folder, it‘s just being faked out by the DT crack, there‘s actually no virus. This is a common mistake. Pretty much every crack shows up like this. Regardless, with this method of installation the point becomes moot since you never have to install or use DT. Lastly, The Witcher is known to have myriad issues, particularly with display drivers/graphics cards and Vista. I cannot help you with this. If you followed these steps and got the game to load to the point where the intro movie plays, then the game is installed properly. I refer you to the official forums for any additional problems you may encounter. Mad props to Dopeman, ParticulateMatter, and CDPROJECTRed for this great game! |

I know i`ve download the game few months ago from another site and i`ve just instaled the game copy a crak or someting dk sure adn play. But this ?!?! waaht the fuuck guys. FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE. Btw i succed to start the game whit a crack from gameworld and lots of updates but i see only the prezentansion movie, and after that a black screen whut my pointer ( i asure you that is`nt the game cause my procesor its used like 88.000 K .. even yahoo messanger consume more ) anyway... dont try to download this shit |

... i hate it when ppl talk in these comments and know nothing of what they talk about... if a program has a crack it 9 times out of 10 comes up as a virus so get over it! plus when u download from skullptura and dopeman you also 9 times out 10 you get the real deal! (mainly skullptura) also this file probably only has the other lang‘s takin out becuase ive gotten this same game from skullptura the same size and everything was fine it just didnt have another langs... so get it install it crack it n play it n shut up! also if u EVER get a message that has a dll in it... simply go to google and type in the exact dll that comes up missing and it will show you a site called dll-files.com got there n get it put it in the same place as the launcher your using and bam... problem solved i do it all the time |
