I get audio but no video with this in VLC Player. Help =[
Downloaded a codec pack, still didn‘t work in VLC, but worked in Media Player. Only thing is that the video and the audio is out of sync. Help please. |

First off, only a select few programs take advantage of graphics power to decode video streams, VLC is not one of them. Which means for most of you, your CPU is doing all the work. You need a pretty powerful CPU to decode h264 @ 1080p, say an e7200 @ 2.53ghz.
There is hope for those without that powerful of a CPU. Just get CoreAVC (off the river). CoreAVC is CPU only (does not use GPU power to decode) and is extremely efficient. It currently is the best h264 decoder in existence. To make sure CoreAVC is the codec doing the decoding (after installing it) you need to either disable any and all other possible decoders, or uninstall them. FFDshow (for video) allows you to disable its internal codec for h264. Just go to the codecs page in ffdshow and look for h264 and change it to disabled. Other codecs might need to be uninstalled. You should notice less CPU usage when playing your h264 files. cheers |

beware of some of these blu ray movies. i was downloading the incredible hulk and some d1ck head was monitoring my computer and reported me to my isp and my service was disconnected. i suspect sony uploaded the file themselves to catch piraters. so watch out! wish i could figure out the proxy settings. |
